Located at the northern edge of Chesapeake Bay, the Greater Baltimore area is full of attractions for the entire family. Housed in the oldest railroad station in America, the B&O Railroad Museum in Ellicott City highlights the history of early transportation in the United States. Other history-related sites include the Fire Museum of Maryland in Lutherville and the Hampton National Historic Site in Towson. Baltimore is home to Major League Baseball's Baltimore Orioles, playing from March through October, and the National Football League's Baltimore Ravens, playing from September through December. Visitors can shop throughout the region, from the Mall in Columbia to Harborplace in Baltimore. Above all, a visit to the Greater Baltimore area makes it very easy to take a trip to Annapolis and the United States' capital of Washington, DC. To complete a trip to the Baltimore area, cruise the harbor on a choice of ocean vessels, from yachts to full-fledged clipper ships. Other centers to visit while in Greater Baltimore include Owings Mills, Dundalk, Timonium and Middle River.
