    American Visionary Art Museum

    The American Visionary Art Museum is located in downtown Baltimore. Exhibiting works of art created by self-taught artists, the museum has a permanent collection of over 4,000 pieces, as well as many changing exhibits. The architecture of the building that houses the museum is a work of art in itself, and has won many awards.

    Ellicott City Fire Station
    Formerly the city's fire station in 1889, this building is now a museum featuring antique fire fighting memorabilias, along with description of the city's fires in the past. This location is open 1pm to 4pm from April to November.

    Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum

    Baseball fans won't want to miss the Babe Ruth Museum. After first opening in 1974, the musem has grown to include the Archives of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Colts. Rare artifacts, photos, videos audio highlights and trivia facts are scattered throughout the various exhibits at the museum. The featured exhibit is Babe Ruth, but visitors will also enjoy the Home Run Club exhibits and many others.

    Port Discovery

    Ellicott City B&O Railroad Station Museum

    Billed as the "oldest railroad station in America", this museum recalls a time when the iron horse was the main mode of transportation in the United States.     Fire Museum of Maryland

    USS Constellation

    The last all sail warship built by the US Navy and the only civil war vessel still afloat, the USS Constellation is now open as a museum. Many artifacts are on display, as well as slide shows and audio stations. A replica cannon is also on board the ship. Most tours are self-guided; however, special guided tours can be arranged.

    American Dime Museum

    Shrunken heads, giant balls of twine, weird toys and many other one-of-a-kind items can be viewed at the American Dime Museum in Baltimore. It was established to resemble the traveling museums from the 1800s which captivated spectators with strange exhibits. Visitors can tour the facilities from Monday to Friday, 12pm to 3pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.

    Washington Monument and Museum
    This monument commemorates George Washington, the first president of the United States. History abounds in this neighbourhood, with Mount Vernon Square and the Maryland Historical Society both located nearby. Despite it's height, the view from the top of the monument is obstructed by the Baltimore cityscape.
